Psalm 127: 2
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
While it is important for us to do all we can in life there comes a point where we can be doing too much! Once you have done your part, it is important to not fret over the results but leave them to God! It is good to work hard and do our part it is when we choose to eat the “bread of anxious toil” that we are taking on more than is ours to carry.
I know Bill and I have to remind ourselves when we get started on projects that we are not responsible for the outcome! We may deeply care about the outcome but ultimately it is always God’s decision for how things turn out. It is so easy to get excited and get so wrapped up in what we feel the results should be that we end up anxious and losing sleep over it and that is not the will of God for any situation.
God has a plan and if we are truly seeking Him and His will then when we give Him our situations it leaves us with the peace of knowing that if we have done our part and we have spent the time praying and seeking God with our whole heart then whatever He decides will be best in the big picture of our lives. I know at times, well most of the time, it is easier said than done to just let it all go and trust that it will work out but it is important to trust God with the results. He will bring it to pass!
It all comes back to Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts I have toward you, “ declares the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God has your back and He knows your heart and the goals you have because He has placed a lot of those in your heart. When your desires are toward Him and other people and you know you are not being self centered and selfish then you know God is mapping out your path for success.
Search your heart today and look at your motives, are they God centered? Ask God for a verse to show you that you are on the right path and then stop being anxious and trust Him to do what is right. The best is yet to come and ladies if we spend all of our time worrying about the outcome we will look like we are 90 when we get there! We don’t want to miss the beauty of the journey along the way to our victory in life because we were too anxious to see it. Do what you can, let it go and trust God to always do what is best.
