1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.”
So now ladies, this verse seems pretty self-explanatory; if we walk in the light of God and His word we will have fellowship with each other and it will be obvious that the blood of Jesus has and will cleanse us from our sins.
Why do women have such a difficult time “fellowshipping” with each other at times? Too often there are teeny tiny groups that we call “cliques” and they just seem to naturally happen. I have never seen anyone standing around saying, “Okay, let me see who I can start a clique with and who should we add and who should we leave out.” It truly seems like a natural thing for women, more so than for men. I was thinking about the girls in my granddaughter’s 2nd-grade class before she was homeschooled and I realized that part of the biggest problem with that class was that there were 5 girls. Hmmmmm an uneven number with any elementary grade with girls can be a problem because they can usually only be friends with one girl at a time. The problem is, that often carries over to adult women as well.
As Christians, we need to strive to be more like Christ and we need to show His love to all. We will always have those very close friends that we can tell all to but we need to be careful to not exclude other women from our fellowship settings just because they aren’t one of those women. Reach out and make an intentional effort to fellowship with other women that are not part of your little group, you never know what they may have to offer and you never know the difference you may make in their lives as well. Maybe they don’t dress like you or maybe they don’t have as nice of a house or as much money or maybe they don’t have the same accent or drawl but there’s always something we can learn from each other, that is why God made us different.
I would encourage you today to enlarge your circle and reach out to someone else that you haven’t had the opportunity to fellowship with. Welcome some new godly input and share your influence where God leads. Ask God to guide you with this because I do understand this can be a bit tricky in some cases and you want to be sure that you are doing good with this, not dragging yourself down with the wrong people. (There are times when we need to distance ourselves from others, so I am not saying just accept all ladies into your inner circle of friends or influence, but we do need to be able to show the love of Christ to all) Ask God for His wisdom in this area and He will gladly guide you!
