Whose Hand Are You Holding?

Lamentations 3:40. Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!

We all want to have Hope and God’s favor and blessing on our lives and He wants us to have all of that as well, but we must follow Him in order to have those things!  It seems as though we often like to take our own path or maybe allow the world to tell us what is ok and right, but that isn’t where we find Hope or God’s Favor! We can also just take a look around at what is going on in the world and see how lost so many people are. They need Jesus but they don’t know it. We need to live in such a way that we can lead them to Him.

We need to constantly be aware of who we are following.  There aren’t really as many choices as some people think:  you are either following God or satan.  Pretty simple really, you are either allowing God to guide you in your decisions on a daily basis or you are walking hand in hand with satan.  Whose hand will you hold today?  When you pick up that book to read or turn on the tv to watch that show, who would rather sit with you, Jesus or satan?  I know, we need to be careful to not become Pharisees about everything, but sometimes I think we worry more about being too much about being like a Pharisee and too little about being like the world.

So, let’s test ourselves and examine our ways today.  It’s sort of like Christmas every year when we pull out all of the strands of Christmas lights that went from being neatly put into a box to some crazy tangled up mess and we sort through each strand to test whether they will work or not.  That is what we need to do; take inventory of our lives and determine what is working in our lives that will benefit our walk and testimony with God.  Are there things that need to go in order to make us more efficient so His light can shine through us to glorify Him?  Are there some things that maybe just need a little tweaking?  What needs to just be thrown out?

I know it is more fun to just focus on all that is right in our lives, but we all need to stretch ourselves if we want to be all we were created to be.  We can all use some adjustments in our lives.  Don’t see it as negative, see it as growth and improvement!

We don’t hesitate to study to be more successful in our work, so let’s do the same to be more successful in our walk with God so we can experience all of Him!  That is where you will find His best!
