Psalm 108: 6 ”Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.”
Notice that in this verse it says, “that those you love….”! God loves you beyond anything you can comprehend! His hand is not short, He can do anything. Maybe it has been a long time coming and you are beginning to feel doubt rushing in to take over, but hold on to Him. He who promised is faithful. Maybe you are trying to make a difference but nothing seems to be working or happening ~ just stay the course and keep doing what God has given you to do and He will do the rest. Keep praying and doing and leave the results to Him.
Stop all of the negative thoughts and doubts before they have a chance to take root in your mind. Choose to spend time in the Word of God and write out verses that you can carry with you like Jeremiah 29:11 – 13 and Philippians 4:13 etc. Cling to the Word of God and hold on to your faith in who He is. He is not a man that He can lie, but you must cling to your faith in Him. Read the Psalms and allow His faithfulness to wash over you and give you the strength you need.
I once heard a quote that said, “God takes a long time to do something quickly.” And that actually makes sense if you have ever had to wait for Him to move in an area of your life. I know what it is like to wonder if you can make it through another day because you need Him to move on something that is weighing so heavy you really don’t want to get out of bed and face another day, but that is when you have to dig in and cling to Him. Don’t give up! What will giving up do for you anyhow? If it is a loved one that you have been praying for for years but nothing seems to be changing, will it help if you give up? No! Keep pressing in to the only One who can do something. You have no idea what God is doing behind the scenes. That is why there are “suddenlies” in our lives. Keep pouring out your heart to God. Tell Him what is on your heart, praise Him for who He is, and use those words, “the one you love……”. This is why prayer changes the person who is praying if you pray with the right heart. It reminds you of the goodness of God and just how much He cares and loves you. It will grow your faith as you praise Him. He is so amazing and He loves you and cares so much! Don’t give up now!
When you read Psalms you realize how much they praised God in their distress. They praised God for His love, mercy, kindness, and deliverance before it even happened. Try that today! Turn up the praise and worship music and praise Him! Give Him glory for who He is. Praise Him in the storms, and in the valleys, and on those mountaintops! You will find that when you praise God with your whole heart and soul it will stir up hope, and the faith you need. It will change your attitude and raise you up out of that pit of despair! Trust me, a praise party alone is much better, and more beneficial than a pity party. Focus on Him and keep watching because truly His best is yet to come!
