Psalm 42:11, “My soul, why are you so downcast? Why are you groaning inside me? Hope in God, since I will praise Him again for being my Savior and God.”
With everything that is going on in the world right now ~ the horror of what is going on in Israel and all of the innocent lives lost, it can be easy to feel hopeless with where the world is headed. Psalm 42 is an awesome reminder that when you feel absolutely swept away with everything in life you must continue in the confidence that God will come through. I think we have a tendency to give up too soon or too easily. We must always remind ourselves to cling to our hope in God. Cling to His promises knowing that you will praise Him again for coming through for you and for being your Savior and your God if you are walking with Him. When it comes to all of the tragedies in the world, we must pray and we must stand up for what is right in a way that will bring glory to God. People are in desperate need of Jesus, we need to be the light!
God is the only one who has answers to all that you face. We have been raised to expect things to happen quickly and that is really not how life was ever meant to be. When a farmer plants his crop he doesn’t expect to harvest it the next day! He knows he must wait and he needs to pray for the right weather to help it grow. There are really very few things in life that are any different than that, but if God doesn’t do what we think He should be doing by the time we think He should have done it then we tend to be willing to just throw in the towel and give up. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” We can’t give up on what God is doing because it hasn’t happened in our timing. We must cling to the fact that He will do what He has said He will do and He is working on things that we don’t know and cannot see.
Whether it is something huge or something seemingly small you cannot give up before your time. Sometimes God is just trying to help you develop some perseverance and sometimes He is trying to give someone else the chance to repent, so don’t give up. Don’t stop praying! Cling to Him and wait for all He has planned. Don’t allow satan to defeat you and your promises from God by giving up too soon! Trust Him and cling to Him no matter what is going on! He sees it all and He has a plan. Our time here on earth is short, who do you know that needs Jesus as their Savior? Pray for them. Ask God to send someone who can speak into their lives or if you are that someone He has in mind, that He will give you the opportunity and the words to say and that He will draw them to Him! Let’s determine to not leave anyone behind…
