Proverbs 1:7, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Are you set in your ways? Are you open to God’s leading and instruction? I would presume you are because you are reading this. I see so many people with just surface relationships with Him and it saddens me because His desire is to have a deep, close walk with each and every one of us.
The “fear” or Awe of the Lord seems to be lacking in our society and it is showing. It all begins as a slow slide from our walk with Him. Satan is sly and he doesn’t just throw something in your face, he is subtle and will get you to just let something seemingly small in or to fade away and then another and another until all of a sudden you wake up one day and hopefully realize how much your walk has changed. It takes being intentional and guarding your walk with God. It’s like most TV shows where they start out seeming ok and then after you are locked into the storyline and the characters they start slipping in the world’s agenda and then you find it difficult to stop watching because you are hooked so you question if it is really bad enough for you to stop. I’m still horrified that one of the most popular TV shows out there right now, including with Christians, doesn’t even ease you into their garbage, I couldn’t make it through the first couple of minutes because everyone was naked and having sex! When did that become ok to watch? No one really started that way, they were gradually lured to a place where they were numb to the sin of watching it. We are called to so much more than that. We serve a Holy God and we need to ask Him to show us anything that needs to be removed from our lives that doesn’t honor Him and who He is! We need to focus on becoming more in awe of our God!
If you look at any other religion, including mythology, their respect and awe of their gods is overwhelming and satan has lured Christians into complacency.
God wants to show you His best for your life! He wants to lead and guide you into all He created you to be! It starts here: Joshua 1:8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” I know you want God’s best for your life! I know you have a desire to seek Him, or you wouldn’t be reading this and I would just like to encourage you today to never settle for where you are! Dig in! Pursue Him! Be in Awe of Him and ask Him to show you what you can do to draw closer to Him. He loves you more than words can say so pursue becoming all He created you to be today! His best is yet to come when you are on His path!
