He’s Got You Even When You Get Old and Gray!

Job 23:10,  “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

It may not seem like it when you are going through struggles in life, but there’s a reason God sometimes allows it.  We live in a sin-filled world so there are going to be heartaches, storms, struggles, and days you just want to pull your hair out for a lack of understanding of what is going on and why.  The question of the day is what are you going to do with that?

We always have a choice of how we will respond to what is going on:  will we allow it to defeat us or will we allow God to use it to mold us into all He created us to be?  I know there are days when you just feel like one more day of what you are dealing with is too many, but He has promised to give you strength or even carry you through, or give you a way out.  Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy, and God wants to turn everything into something better and good.  Isaiah 46:4 it says, “Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you!  I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.”  He’s got you, but He will not force His way into your life, you must choose Him, but He wants to carry and deliver you.  He wants to walk with you and guide you.

Are you willing to let go of your agenda, trust Him, and follow Him?  He has promised to be with you!  I get it, it’s not easy to just step out in faith, blindly following, and trusting with no idea of what is coming next, but do you have a better option?  There’s no way to control anything in life, so why not trust the one Who can?  Are you able to handle the situation better than He can?  We all know that satan is a liar and he is the one who keeps whispering to you that if you give it all to God then something terrible is going to happen and things will be worse.  There isn’t a verse in the Bible that will back that idea up because it is a lie from Hell.   Fill your space with praise and worship music and spend some time alone with God and ask Him to fill you with His confidence and hope.  Remember Jeremiah 29: 11-13,  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

God’s desire for you is always to help you become all He created you to be and for some reason, we all seem to grow in our walk with Him more in the fire than on the mountaintop.  I would have to say it is probably because we tend to focus on Him more when things are difficult.  We need to focus on Him day and night every day just like it says in Joshua 1:8,  “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”  It takes being intentional in your walk with Him and your focus on Him.  Take the time to seek Him and all that He has created you to be.  If you are going through something horrific ask Him what He may be trying to teach you through it.  If you are on the mountaintop I would encourage you to seek Him with your whole heart to become all you can be even in the good times!  Don’t neglect your walk with Him regardless of where you are.  Pursue Him, get to know Him, allow Him to walk with you, and guide you in all that you do so you can know that truly His best is yet to come!
