Be Careful Who You Listen To

Isaiah 37: 5-7,  When King Hezekiah’s officials came to Isaiah, Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘This is what the Lord says:  Do not be afraid of what you have heard ~ those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.  Listen!  When he hears a certain report, I will make him want to return to his own country, and there I will have him cut down with the sword.’”

Who are you listening to?  Whether it is in a struggle or just everyday life, who are you listening to?  Remember God has a plan for your life:  Jeremiah 29:11-13,”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  So why would you listen to anyone else?  Now, the interpretation of those verses gets twisted sometimes and people take the “plans to prosper you” as saying all of God’s people will be overflowing with financial wealth.  God may give you financial blessings, but your prosperity could be great health, Godly wisdom, and wonderful relationships…the important thing is seeking Him and finding Him.  The blessings of His presence and walking with Him far exceed anything else.  Anything else He blesses you with is just ice cream on your pie!

On a side note; we must all be extremely careful when listening to the News out there. I would encourage you to pray for Godly wisdom and discernment! The News is laced with lies and we must seek God and ask for His discernment and wisdom in order to know the truth! Fix your eyes and set your heart and mind on Him and His leading in all you do!

You must guard your heart and mind.  You cannot just allow any thoughts to flow through your mind, you must consciously choose.  God’s word is true and God is faithful and satan will do his best every single day to try to tell you differently.  He wants you to believe that all of those things God did in the Bible were for back then.  The last thing satan wants you to believe is that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and the same God who defended Israel in the Old Testament will defend and fight for you if you are walking with him.  Don’t allow anyone else to tell you that your welfare depends on them or that you can’t possibly do what you know God is calling you to do.  Who do they think they are?  They are defying the living God, just like the king of Assyria was doing in these chapters of Isaiah.  They need to be careful when they are speaking against God and God’s plans.  Don’t listen to the lies of discouragement.  Set your mind on God and what He says. Seek Him with your whole heart! Keep Philippians 4:7 with you “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  When you focus on Him and what He says in His Word you can have His peace.  You can move forward in confidence and He can work in your heart and life because you will be focused on Him.  Don’t get distracted ~ guard your heart and mind.  Ask God today if there’s anything or anyone you need to remove that is causing you to be stuck.  Follow Him with your whole heart.  Know that He knows the way and He knows all that you will face along the way and He is already prepared, but you must stick close by His side.  Trust Him!  Trust His plan for your life!  Don’t allow satan or anyone else to rob you of it.  If they are coming against the plans of God, it is Him they are defying and their day will come.  Hold fast to His word and trust that truly His best is yet to come when you are walking by His side!  He loves you!
