Psalm 75:1 “We give thanks to you God, we give thanks; your name is near, people tell of your wonderful deeds.”  

It’s Sunday here in the U.S. which is a natural day to sing praises to God and I truly believe that is one of the great benefits of going to church, praising God together, and just soaking in His presence.  As you praise Him any day of the week be mindful of the words you are saying.  Stop for a moment and just think about who He is and how truly incredible our God is.  He loves us so much and He deserves our praise!

Part of my love for reading the Old Testament is reading all of the times God stepped in miraculously for His people and reading how people overcame their fears and even their enemies by walking with God and believing what He said.  When you look at Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Joshua, Gideon, Ruth, David, Esther, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Daniel, and the list could go on and on God was near to them.  That wasn’t an accident, they walked with God and therefore He walked with them.  That didn’t mean that bad things didn’t happen in their lives and it didn’t mean that they always felt His presence, it means that no matter what they knew in their hearts God was near and He would give them the strength to face whatever it was that came their way including possible death!  Many a Psalm has David saying, “Please don’t delay…”,  “Please hear my prayers and answer me…”. David didn’t always “feel” but he always trusted God!  God wants the same for each one of us!  You are His child and you are greatly loved by Him!

So, I would love to encourage you today to praise God, give thanks to Him with your whole heart and just soak in that regardless of how you may feel ~ He is near.  He is much more near than you know.  He is wonderful beyond measure and He loves you with His whole heart!
