Choose a Joyful Noise

Psalm 100:1-3,  Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!  Serve the Lord with gladness!  Come into His presence with singing!  Know that the Lord, He is God!  It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”

Not everyone when they wake up in the morning jumps out of bed joyful.  One of my daughters is not a morning person at all and she was born that way.  That was an adjustment for me when she was little because I have always been one who wakes up and usually has the attitude of, “ok, let’s do this.”  So while you may not jump out of bed praising God or anything else in your life, make sure that you don’t miss out on being thankful and praising at some point in your day.  It will make all the difference in the world in your attitude and outlook so I would suggest doing it early on.

“Know that the Lord, He is God!”  He sees you and He knows every single detail about you.  He knows more about you than you know yourself!  He knows your name, He knows how your day will go based on whether or not you follow Him or choose to do your own thing.  He has a plan for your day, will you choose to follow it, or have you already made your plans for the day?  I get the fact that if you have a job then your day is pretty planned out, but think on a different level like, how you are going to respond to that annoying coworker or how you will choose to handle the traffic delays… what are areas that you can choose to handle in a way that will show His love to others?  How can you make Him a part of all that you do today regardless of whether you are at a job or home?

Make a joyful noise and praise His name!  Praise will change your outlook and your day.  Whether you are going through a storm or you are just going through the motions today, taking the time to praise God will totally change your outlook.  Turn on some praise and worship music.  He deserves our praise every day, not just on Sunday.  Allow the words you are singing to penetrate your heart, focus on Him, and who He is, and watch how it changes you and your attitude.  He loves you and He deserves your praise.

It’s hard to believe that it is already almost October.  Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving here in the United States and then Christmas and New Year will be just around the corner.  Make the most of it by making sure you are taking the time to praise your God every single day.  Do it and see what a difference it will make between now and the New Year.  There are some radio stations I have heard that do a 30-day challenge where the only music you listen to is Christian Music.  If you don’t already do that, maybe you can try it and see the difference.  It isn’t that there’s no other music out there that is good, although there’s less and less all the time, but if you are listening to other music all of the time and never taking the time to praise God and lead your children to praise God, that could be a problem,  Remember what you feed your mind, is what you are filling your heart with.  If you are sad, the last thing you should fill your mind with is sad music, turn on some praise and watch your spirits lift!

Make the determination today to praise God ~ every day!  Even if you just start with listening to one song a day and praying and thanking God for another day.  Start somewhere and allow Him to fill your heart and mind with His joy and peace!
