Don’t Be Misled!

Proverbs 2:1-5,  My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

We would have to be spiritually blind to not recognize the days we live in.  If you watch the news and see what is going on in Israel and the countries coming against them, it is like watching the Bible in real time.  You can never tell if you are ever getting the truth from the news or online, there’s so much deception in the world.  I have seen stories created by people with A.I. that are just created for “click-bait” because they make money on their social media platforms for every like, and comment ~ they don’t care about truth, they want the money.  We live in a desperate world and what they don’t understand is that their desperation can only be filled by Jesus!

So, in light of all of that, we must be seeking God’s face.  We need to fill our hearts and minds with the Word of God!  It needs to be a priority!  As it says in Joshua 1:8,  “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”   I would encourage you to not read that and think, “Cha-Ching!”  Money!  The best prospering and success you can have in this life are the souls you help avoid Hell!  Let’s set our sights on eternity vs. here and now!

Pray for discernment!  We need godly discernment from the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives.  Satan is a master of deception, he has been doing it for a long time and he knows he doesn’t have much time left.  It breaks my heart when I see Christians post things that don’t line up with the Word of God.  Before you repost something on your Social Media make sure it is true and make sure it lines up with God’s Word.  God has promised to give us the wisdom and discernment we need.  We need to speak the truth in love and be the light!  Yes, we live in the days of His grace because Jesus paid the price for our sins, but we will still stand before God one day and we will have to account for how we lived for Him.  Our gratitude for what Jesus has done for us should drive us to want to live for Him and to follow His Words!  It should drive the stands we take!  Christians should be appalled at the attack on children from the unborn on up!  We cannot allow ourselves or our loved ones to be dragged into the world’s view of right and wrong, we must dig in and stand on the truth of God’s Word and we must do it in love.  As it says in Matthew 18:14, “It is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”

Let’s determine to saturate our hearts and minds with God.  There is not a moment to spare.  Let’s be sure to take advantage of the wonderful privilege we have to go to His throne in prayer for the lost all around us!  Pray for the boldness and opportunities to reach out in love, to be His hands and feet, and to share Him with anyone He leads us to.  Open your heart and mind up to what He wants to do in and through you and don’t hold anything back!  You can trust Him, He has proven that over and over!  Think about this:  when He comes what do you want Him to find you doing?  What if He came when you were voting…. Will that vote line up with His Word and what that candidate stands for (trust me I know, no one is perfect, none of us are, and that is why we must look at what they stand for)?  What would He find you watching or reading?  How would he find you treating that spouse, child, or maybe server, cashier, or maybe your employee?

Your Father in Heaven loves you and He has offered to lead you through the chaos.  He wants to use you and your story!  He wants to help you shine and make Him proud!  Satan is after you and he wants to wear you out and wear you down so you can’t become all God created you to be BUT GOD wants to build you up and give you the strength to become all He knows you are capable of becoming.  So, as Solomon encouraged his son, I want to encourage you as well with His words from the verses above, “incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.”
