Faith & Trust Will Get You Through …

Psalm 145:13, “The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.”

Faith and trust aren’t always easy, and they don’t promise to make things easier, but they do make things possible. There were places, when Jesus walked the earth, where He didn’t do many miracles because of the lack of faith. Faith is actually your choice. You can wallow in your unbelief and fuss that things will never change, or you can believe that if God has promised something, then He is always faithful to do what He says He will do. Now, we know that doesn’t mean that everything you pray for and want will come out the way you want or expect. Faith walks hand in hand with trust in God and His wisdom and love for you.

Sometimes faith is not an easy lesson because it requires trust. It means that when you can’t see what is coming, you trust that He does and He will guide you. It means that when the ground you are on seems shaky, you know He is there and He will steady you and lift you up when the time is right. It means taking one step at a time and trusting Him not to allow you to fall because you are walking with Him. It means being willing to do, often, what no one else is willing to do. Faith is putting all of your hope and trust in God’s character, not in what you see, and not in what you want, but totally in Him. It’s not easy, but it is what He is asking us to do, and it is required if you want to continue to grow in your walk with Him.

We all struggle at times, and that is when you must choose to block out satan’s lies and use scripture to remind yourself of who God is and remember, as the verse says above, “The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.” What has He asked you to do? Do you feel as though you are walking blind and you aren’t really sure what is next? Trust Him, and when you feel that unbelief coming on, pray and ask Him to “help your unbelief” and give you the strength to believe.

We live in a dark world, so pray for God to shed His light on all that you do, and to guide you in the days ahead. He knows the way you need to go. He loves you, and He wants you to follow Him. Keep in mind that this isn’t even just about you; it is about all of those who are watching and following you as well. Will they see you walk in faith, or will you give up and settle? Ask Him for His strength. Ask Him to help you ward off those lies that satan is trying to tell you. You’re gonna make it, just stick close by God’s side. Honor God by believing Him and taking Him at His word.
