Psalm 119:11, “I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
I love the quote, “God’s Word is like the ocean ~ so deep we will never explore it all and yet shallow enough a small child can wade in it.” Whatever answer you are looking for, it’s in there! If you’re looking for salvation, answers about who God is, answers to world issues, encouragement, hope, direction, love, whatever answer you are seeking about how to live, then the Bible is the first place to look.
What if there was a pop quiz, and if you got an “A,” you might win a MILLION DOLLARS? Next question ~ what if that quiz was on the Bible? How would you do? I really hope you are confident that you would do GREAT. Statistics tell us, though, that the majority of people who claim to be Christians hardly ever read their Bible. Ohhhh, how much they miss!
In Luke chapter 19, it tells us that Jesus was teaching in the temple every day, and it irritated the religious leaders so much that they wanted to kill Him. Here’s what stopped them: Verse 48 of chapter 19 says, Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on His words.”
The people were hanging on His every word! The more they heard, the more they wanted to hear, and it is the same way when you read your Bible; the more you read, the more you will want to. God has given us His Word so we can know Him and the plans He has for our lives. So, don’t miss out on time with Him. Carve out time alone with Him every day. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11-13, He has a plan for your life, and the way to learn about that plan is to seek Him with your whole heart, and the best way to begin is spending time alone with Him in His Word.
