Genesis 21: 19
Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
I have been in that place before, where you just cannot find the answer to your situation no matter how hard you try and it seems as though you are all alone with no where to turn, have you? Maybe you are there now or maybe a friend is, know that God is there and He does have your answer.
With our hectic life styles and the overwhelming stress levels most people seem to live in today, it is easy to miss an answer that is right in front of you. Hagar had left her son under a bush and walked far enough away to avoid having to watch him die because they had no water. God heard them and opened her eyes so she could see the well that was there. It’s like that old saying, “you can’t see the forrest for the trees”.
Hagar may have been delirious due to the lack of water and too faint to see the well in front of her, but her problem was very real. Have you felt like that? Have you gotten to the point where you just can’t go on and you have lost all hope of surviving your situation because you cannot see a way out? Ask God to open your eyes today. Ask Him to show you His answer and His “way through” this. God loves you and He cares about all that you face so you need to trust Him with the answer.
The crazy thing about all of this is that you may be closer to your answer than you think! Like Hagar, your answer may be right beside you and you just aren’t seeing it because you are so focused on the problems at hand. When Hagar finally stopped running and trying to make it through the wilderness on her own and she called on God, then she saw the well and the answer that God had waiting for her. Stop running, stop trying to “fix it” and ask Him to show you!
God loves you and His promises are true. Trust Him today to guide you to the other side. Know that He has a plan for your life and if you allow Him to He will reveal all that you need, to be all He created you to be. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” The best is yet to come!
