Matthew 5:13. “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”
You are the “example”! You may be the only Jesus those people will ever see! If you don’t live a life that makes a difference and leads by example of what the Bible has to say, how will they know? The highest percentage of Christians who read their Bibles that I found as I did a brief scan of polls on it was 26%! Wow! That is shocking to me! How can we live for Him and be more like Him if we never read His Word?
The world is a crazy place and seems to get crazier by the day. I used to wonder how people would get to a point where intelligent people would believe crazy lies about life, about right and wrong, salvation, and just general knowledge of Heaven and Hell and God, and yet today those lies have permeated every aspect of our lives. Right is wrong, in fact, standing up for what we have always known to be true is considered wrong, wrong is right and no one wants to be told that living a life of sin is not acceptable. In many areas, we haven’t just lowered the standard, we have lost one!
Here’s the challenge: Jesus said that we are the “salt” of the earth ~ we are the examples! Salt gives flavor! What we have to offer in Him is the most wonderful gift on earth! Dare to live a life that is different! Dare to be the example! Dare to read your Bible to get to know Him more! Dare to be strong in your convictions, not out looking for an argument, but standing firm in what you believe when questioned. Love people, but hate the sin that is destroying them and those around them! Dare to set your standards high for you and your family! Dare to not settle for anything less than God’s best for your life and those you love by allowing Him to lead you in every area of your life! Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who will never be reached because they have chosen to believe the lies, but what if by changing how you live, you could reach even one? What if your example would get someone to pause to ask what the difference is? There are people out there who are starving for the truth and are looking for answers, let’s ask God today to reveal to us how we can live lives that will matter, lives that will draw others to Him!
