Psalms 107:8-9,  Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!  For He satisfies the longing soul And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

What’s going on today?  It’s Memorial Day weekend so I know it can be filled with all sorts of activities both fun and also remembering sacrifices made by loved ones and friends which can bring a gamut of emotions.  As you fly through the weekend, I would just like to encourage you to take the time to remind yourself of the goodness of God and the sacrifice His Son made as well.  Take the time to remember all the good things He has done.  Take the time to remind your children of answers to prayer and the things you have heard and seen Him do in your life, the lives of others, and in His Word.  

Whether you are on a mountaintop or you feel as though you are drowning in the sea of despair, God is good, and He loves you and wants to be right by your side.  He is a personal God who loves you dearly and wants to show you His plan for your life so you can truly experience Him and His goodness.  He is mighty and gracious and He sees you, He knows every detail about you, and He loves you so much.  When you pursue Him with your whole heart He fills your soul with His goodness, His mercy, and grace for your situation.  He wants to fill you with His love and heal your wounded heart, shattered dreams, and He wants to guide you into all He created you to be!  He is just so good!  

Walking closely with God is where you will find His peace, wisdom, mercy, and grace to not only get through the storms in life but so you can thrive in your service to Him.  It’s when we take our eyes off Him that we miss seeing His goodness because we become consumed with how overwhelming what’s going on around us is.  Focus on Him and His goodness and He will gladly guide you in all that you do.  Life is tough and it will be tougher if you are not walking with Him and trusting Him and His goodness.  Trust His character and goodness.  Ask Him to give you His wisdom and strength.  Ask Him to create in you a clean heart and a right spirit so you can make the best decisions.

God is so good ~ all the time!  So often people want to say, “How can there be a God when there’s so much evil going on in the world?  God is good, all the time and evil comes straight from Hell.  We are all free to choose the path we will take, evil or good and unfortunately the world pays the price when we choose poorly, but that doesn’t change the fact that God is always good and we need to pursue Him and His path for our lives!

No matter where you are today or what all may be going on around you or in the world, both good and bad can you just take a moment to thank Him for His goodness?  Ask Him to help you see Him in everything good in your life and to guide you in all that you do knowing that then truly His best is yet to come!
