Matthew 25:37- 40. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When were you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and came unto you? And the King shall answer and say unto them, “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.”
Summer is, here in Tennessee and it seems to be coming on strong temperature wise. whew! What plans do you have? Do you have vacations planned, outings with the kids and grandkids, maybe you are moving? Summer tends to be a busy time of going and doing. I absolutely love summer and all of the fun it brings with family and friends!
Today though, I would like to encourage you to look for ways to be Jesus to others. Don’t get so caught up in everything else that you miss out on serving God. With summer coming up your church could probably use some extra help ~ workers and pastors go on vacations as well so having a few extra hands that can be counted on in the nursery or other areas could be a real blessing.
There are so many opportunities to serve. Think of all of the homeless people who are out there in the heat that could use some food, water or clothes. There are shelters that can be volunteered at. How about the elderly? When my Mom was in the Nursing Home, it horrified me to know how many people there are in places like that who never have any family that comes to visit ~ how sad!
I just would like to encourage each of you today to take some time before summer hits, or it will never happen, to plan something you can do in Jesus name for someone else! Take the time to show His love to others and find how much the opportunity blesses you! One of the best ways to win others to Christ is to be Him in action.
Quote: “Each one of us will one day be judged by our standard of life, not by our standard of living; by our measure of giving, not by our measure of wealth; by our simple goodness, not by our seeming greatness.” William Arthur Ward
