Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Being still isn’t something that comes very naturally to most of us especially if something is wrong or you are going through “one of THOSE seasons. When you are hurt, angry, or frustrated, or you can see something that you know needs to be fixed, or you are afraid of what is coming down the road, typically fight or flight mode kicks in, not “being still”. God is telling you to “be still and KNOW that He is God.
The other day I felt the Lord ask me, “Do you trust me?” Of course I do, or so I thought. Then I realized that I was trying to take things into my own hands and have the outcome I wanted, I wanted to help God out because sometimes I don’t feel like He is moving quite fast enough, and what if the end results are something different than what I have planned out in my mind. Trust means you are willing to allow God to do whatever He feels is best and that you trust Him to bring the best outcome in His eyes. You know He loves you right? You know that He sees and He cares deeply about all you face and He has a plan. You may not be able to see it right now and you may not understand, but you can know that His way is always best and always for good in the end. Life on earth is temporary and yet we live as though it is everything, totally missing out on living for eternity, not here.
It’s easy to get in God’s way of taking care of something that only He can do! Don’t get in His way because it will just take longer to clean up the mess you make. Trust Him and leave it all with Him! GET YOUR HANDS OFF IT! Trust me, it isn’t going to happen faster if you take control. He’s got you! Remember, and if you haven’t written it down yet determine to do it today ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
He has a plan so trust His plan and be still and wait for it (do what He shows you to do and trust Him with the rest and the results…. You can trust Him because no one will ever love you like He does! As difficult as it is, take your hands off and give it back to Him. Spend time in prayer and in His Word. Ask Him to fill you with His hope and the grace to get through to the other side. Then watch for it. Ask Him to help you see things He is doing no matter how small they may seem. He is by your side through the good, the bad, and the ugly so lean into Him and trust that truly His best is yet to come!
