Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Every day we have choices to make. Some of those choices have to do with what we will do with what life throws at us that day. Some days can seem overwhelming and thoughts of just letting go and wallowing in self pity may seem tempting, but I am challenging you today to resist that urge and choose triumph instead! Choose to focus on God
Believe me, I know what it is like to feel as though you just can’t take any more, life seems to throw you that curve ball too often and you are just sick of it and tired of fighting. Stop for a moment. Take a deep breath, let it out slowly, another one……., release, and one more all the while, focusing on God. Shove those problems to the side for a moment and only focus on Him. Now, think about it; what good will come if you wallow in self-pity and you choose to be the victim in this situation instead of the victor? You do have a choice! You may be the victim of someone else’s bad choices but you don’t have to allow that to define you! You are not a victim, you are a victor, by choice! You are a child of the King and today you can hold your head high and you can choose to make positive choices for your life that will change your tomorrow instead of choosing to walk in self-pity, believing all of the lies satan is trying to throw at you. Satan wants to disarm you so you aren’t all that you were created to be! He fears what you may do if you realize your full potential so he is out to destroy any positive thoughts, faith, and hope you may have about your life!
If you will choose to set God always before you and you focus on Him, you will not be moved by satan’s lies! It is your choice and you have to make it every day!
Psalm 56:8-10 tells us, “You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise.” He loves you and is for you! He wants you to have victory every day of your life! You don’t have to be a victim, you can choose to allow Him to take every single thing that life throws at you and turn it into something amazing that can be used for Him! He will help you to be victorious, but you must focus on Him and trust Him to bring it all to pass! Rebuke those negative thoughts and lies and get yourself in agreement with what God’s Word has to say about you and your situation. That doesn’t mean that everything every day will go your way and turn out the way you plan, it does mean though that you are opening yourself up to God’s plans for your life and His best! Remember that old saying, “Good things come to those who wait.” It’s in waiting and trusting that you find His best.
Remember Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil. Plans to give you a future and a hope.” He has a plan, but it doesn’t include days of sitting around wallowing in self-pity. Life happens to all of us believe me (this Bible study hits close to home), but we can live victorious lives, one day at a time walking in His strength and choosing it! The best is yet to come!
