Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

We have a choice of what we speak and what we allow our minds to dwell on. Do you take charge of your tongue or do you speak your mind? Do you take every thought captive or do you allow yourself to dwell on whatever comes to mind. Sin is quite often acted on after you have dwelled on the idea for a while. We rarely commit acts of sin that have just crossed our minds, usually we have thought it over and have meditated on it at some point and time.

It is so important to take charge of our words and thoughts ladies and the best place to begin is to make sure that if we have a thought we run it through the check point of “how does God feel about this idea and what does His word have to say about it.” It is not only important for our testimony but it is very important when it comes to our walk with God as well.

When a thought comes to mind that you know you shouldn’t dwell on stop it at the door of your mind and reject it. If you are in a place where you can, turn on some praise and worship music and focus on the words to the songs. Memorize this verse and when angry words or impure thoughts come to mind recite this verse and ask for God’s help.

We also have the choice to be positive or negative in our attitudes.  A negative attitude will not help you accomplish anything.  If you are feeling grumpy and negative pray and ask God to give you a clean heart and a right spirit.  Negativity is like poison to anything you are trying to do and it spreads to others so stop it before it has a chance to grow and spread.  Choose life giving words that will please God!
We all have the choice and the place to begin is to set your mind today that you will guard your tongue and your mind. Determine before hand that you will speak what is right and only dwell on those things that would please God. Pray for Him to give you the strength you need to make the changes you need to make. Memorize this verse and use it to fight off the temptation when it comes along. Choose today to honor God with your words and thoughts.

Janet, I always find something helpful in your devotions, but today, it was like you and I are best friends, and you know my greatest weakness. Your words spoke right to my heart! Thank you for allowing God to use you in this ministry. Connie

I have done this for 5 years now—-so just call me doormat because that is how I am treated at work. I pray heaven has no doormats because I will not be able to handle seeing one there!!!!
