Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
Dare to be different! Dare to stand out because of your pursuit of God and your relationship with Him! Not pious and haughty, somehow thinking you are better, but different because It is His love and direction you are following. Dare to strive to be more like Him and to have His boldness and love in all that you do! Jesus wasn’t a whimp, He was bold when He taught and when He confronted the Pharisees, but He had compassion and love for people!
When we try to serve Him in our own “power” we end up going to one extreme or another! In other words, too often we end up either pious or we find ourselves acting like the rest of the world so we fit in, trying to reach them without being different. If you are no different than everyone else, what is there for them to want? And if you are pious and condemning acting like you are better than everyone else, there’s still nothing desirable there! Ask Him to fill you with His love and power and compassion for people and ask Him to speak through you so others are drawn to Him. We all want to be liked, and there is nothing more likable than a person filled with Him!
I can guarantee you from my personal experience, that as you pursue your relationship with God, all Hell will come against you! As long as you are complacent, satan has nothing to worry about, where you are concerned, but once you decide to allow God to reach others through you, he gets moving to try to discourage and stop you! If you or someone you know is doing your best to get moving in your relationship with God, you cannot stop when you start to feel discouraged. Satan will do everything he can to try to make you feel alone and hopeless, but God is on your side and you are never alone, it is only in Him that you will find hope, so just cling to Him and know that He will see you through!
God created you to do great things, don’t give up, and don’t think you have to “fit in”, dare to be all that He created you to be! Follow these verses and spend time in His word getting to know Him. Choose to follow His lead in all that you do knowing that His best is yet to come and we don’t want anyone to miss out because of us!
