Job 28:28 And he said to man, “Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.”
We can never have too much wisdom! I find myself constantly praying for more wisdom because there are constantly situations that arise that need more wisdom and understanding than what I would have in the natural. How about you ladies? Do you ever wish that you had handled something differently after the fact or do you ever look at your children or marriage and wish you had more wisdom to be a better Mom or Wife? Maybe it’s your finances or your job – whatever it is, we all have areas that we can use more wisdom.
The “fear” of the Lord does not mean we walk around quaking in our shoes, it is to have an overwhelming respect and constant consciousness of who God is and what He can do. If we really stop before we face a problem, temptation, or situation that could get tense just pray and think about who He is and how mighty He is to work in your circumstances we would find we would have more wisdom and integrity in those areas.
Once we have the wisdom to know what to do and say this verse is clear that good understanding of that wisdom will help us walk away from saying and doing the wrong things.
I have been reading the book of Job and I am going to go back through and read it again and this time I am going to focus on all Job has to say about who God is because he truly had a grasp on knowing God. God is so amazing and so far beyond our comprehension that I think at times we become a bit complacent when it comes to thinking about who He is and that is not only a disservice to Him and who He is but it means we also miss out on all that He can do in our lives because we lack faith at that point.
Spend some time today and focus on all that we know God is and allow your mind to really soak it all up. Dwell on Him instead of what you are facing. Ask Him to give you wisdom in and for all things. Allow His peace to cover you today knowing the best is yet to come!
Quote: “Wisdom is knowing the right path to take, integrity is taking it!”
