Do You Trust Him or Have You Given Up?

James 1:2-8,  “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Life is full of struggles and “trials” and how you handle them reveals a lot about your walk with God.  None of us are perfect and we all have days when we may wonder if God is working on our behalf, but God’s Word is true and He is faithful and we are to stop those thoughts at the door and we are to cling to the fact that He will do what He has said He will do.  If God has given you a promise then you must cling to it and not doubt.  We must cling to faith and not fear at all times.  While that is sometimes easier said than done, we are still called to it.  The Bible does not say that life on earth will be easy, but it does tell us that we can trust God to always be faithful to what He has promised.  There is no benefit to doubting.  Your faith is based on your trust.  How much do you trust God?

Some days heartaches can overwhelm and discourage you on every level and when you feel that way you must cling to Him.  He loves you so much!  He sees and it is Him you need to believe, not the lies that satan tries to put in your head or what other people may try to tell you, or even how someone else’s story has turned out.  You can’t be stable in your walk with Him if you only believe Him some of the time.  You must choose to believe and when you feel you are starting to waver ask Him to give you the faith and trust that you need.  Ask Him for His wisdom and confidence in your situation.  Ask Him to give you His peace in your heart.  The world is full of everything but peace because it has turned away from God.  If you are looking for comfort and peace you will only find it in Him.  There is absolutely no way to control what is going on around you, so put all of your faith and hope in Him.  He is the God who sees and He knows you by name.  Don’t freak out, you are a child of the Most-High God, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords so don’t get rattled ~ adjust your crown Princess!  Hold your head up and walk in the confidence that no matter what things look like today, your Heavenly Daddy has you in the palm of His hand and He has a plan.  That plan will be true to what He is promising you and it will take your enemies by surprise.  This is not a “Lexus in the driveway” prosperity promise, I am talking about Him walking with you, vindicating you, leading you, not allowing your foot to slip, and showing you all He has planned for you as it says in Jeremiah 29:11-13, promise!  Trust Him!  Seek Him with your whole heart.  If you want His best you must allow Him to show you what His best is in every area of your life.  Too often while Christians want His best in the areas they choose they will cling to something stupid like a tv show that He has said must go or books they are reading or allow their kids to read, or music…. And yet they want His blessing in other areas.  Give it all to Him!  Don’t cling to anything other than Him!  Get in His Word and spend time in prayer and seek Him with your whole heart and then you can trust that truly His best is yet to come!
