Ecclesiastes 9:10, Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;
My Dad always used to tell me to do whatever I was doing in a way that I wouldn’t mind writing my name on it for all to see that I did it. How differently would things be done if that were the case for all of us? In The Bible, God tells us to do everything as though we are doing it directly for Him and not for people. How much more would you do or how much better would you do it, if that was your thought? I ask “How much more” because too often other people want to step in and tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing but it is God you need to follow. It is one thing to get Godly advice, it is another to allow naysayers to get in the way of what God is asking you to do ~ follow God’s leading in all that you do. It would also be a pity to allow complacency or lack of motivation to keep you from what God is calling you to do too. Don’t settle for where you are! Go after what God is calling you to with everything you’ve got! Give it your best! Ask Him if you are being complacent in an area that you should be giving your all in. There’s a big difference between giving something 100% vs 99% and if God is calling you to it then give it all you’ve got. Now remember, giving something all you’ve got does not mean that you neglect other important areas of your life. God calls us to also be balanced in all we do, so keep God first, and your family second, and then ask for His guidance in everything else. Giving 100% means that you are doing your best at the task set before you. Don’t get sloppy about it, do your best.
God has equipped you to do all that He created you to do, so do your best ~ for Him! When life seems to be getting in your way and you are overwhelmed with everything going on ask Him for His wisdom and strength to guide you into all that He would have you to do. Sometimes just doing what is in front of you for the day, the little things that no longer seem little ~ clean that kitchen or bathroom, read your children a Bible story before bed, fold the clothes when they come out of the dryer so you don’t have to rewash them because you know you aren’t going to iron all of that stuff and you certainly don’t want your family wearing wrinkled clothes. On those days, just do what is in front of you and above all spend some time just sitting with the Lord. Read your Bible, turn on some praise music, or just sit for a few minutes and allow Him to fill you with His peace and confidence that He has a plan and He will see you through.
Don’t give satan a toe hold by allowing other people to keep you from what God is calling you to do. God is the one you must follow and satan is going to throw anything and anyone into your path to try to stop that. That is a really bad place for them to be, but you certainly don’t want to join them there. Ask God to guide you every day whether you are on the mountaintop or in the valley, He is there and He wants to be your guide, your rock, your deliverer, your refuge, and your strength. Grab onto Him and don’t let go knowing that truly His best is found in Him and is still yet to come!
