Romans 1: 16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Which one is ruling in your heart today; faith or fear? I am by no means saying that in a condemning way because let me tell you, with everything that is going on in the world today it is understandable that fear is running rampant even among believers. We are living in a day when not only has “wrong become right” but now it is “wrong” if you believe in what the Bible tells us is right because you may offend someone! It is a scary place when we aren’t even just told to be tolerant of sin we are told that if we say anything against sin we are the ones who are in the wrong! That is just so messed up! But, even though the world has gone crazy, we can still have faith in God because He is still on the throne!

The Bible is full of God’s promises and all of the stories of His faithfulness! He has promised in His word to always do what is best. He has promised you that He has a plan, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.” Hold on to that hope and allow Him to guide you to the future He has planned for your life!

We all know that the opposite of faith is fear but do we understand that there is one thing they have in common? “Faith and Fear both believe in a future that hasn’t happened yet!” (John Gordon) How true is that? Have you ever stopped to think about that thing you fear the most, and made yourself recognize the fact that you are just supposing what may happen. There is no truth in it yet because it hasn’t happened yet so in a sense you are spending your time worrying about your imagination. I catch myself doing that all the time; you hear something that has happened to someone else and the next thing you know you find yourself so consumed with the fear of that happening to you that you can’t function on the level God has called you to. Stop putting yourself in other people’s shoes ~ God didn’t fit you with the grace to wear them! God gives us grace and strength to deal with situations when they happen to us, not before, not just after and certainly not when it has happened to someone else instead of us! You get your own grace from God for your “stuff” not everyone else’s.

God wants you to walk in the confidence and faith for your life that He is still God and He is in control! Not one hair is going to fall out of your head that He doesn’t know about (lately I seem to keep Him pretty busy on those numbers of hairs). He loves you and nothing can happen to you that won’t pass by Him first. Trust Him! Pray! Spend time in prayer over all those things that are concerning you! Instead of allowing them to consume you and immobilize you, take them to Him and leave them there. Ask Him to consume you with all that He has for you to do! Ask Him to consume you with His peace and strength! Ask Him to build a wall of protection around you and those you love with His angels! Find a group of faith filled people to spend some time with as it says in Romans 1:12…”that we may be mutually encouraged by each others faith, both yours and mine.” Our faith is meant to encourage each other. Hold on to your faith and Hope in Him ~ the best is yet to come!
