Don’t Underestimate What God Can Do With a Fully Surrendered Life!

Luke 5:8-11,  When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”  For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.  Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.”  So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

One day they were out fishing and the next thing they knew they were disciples of Jesus ~ the Messiah!  I would imagine they may have been a bit rough around the edges, what do you think?  They, especially Peter at times, exhibited a bit of a rough edge throughout their time of training with Jesus, but Jesus chose them.  Peter started here and ended up being a strong, faith-filled martyr.

There are times when people start their walk with God or maybe they go through a time of rebellion and they have some “rough edges”.  Maybe their language would challenge that of an “ungodly trucker”, or maybe they seem to be loose and wild, but God can smooth off those “rough edges”!  They are not hopeless, you just never know what God may do in their lives as they turn themselves over to Him!  Don’t judge where they came from because God always has a plan! You will be amazed at all that God can do when someone fully surrenders their life to Him!

Maybe it’s you!  Maybe you are the one who has come from a rough life and you are searching and trying to find your way.  Don’t underestimate what God can do in and through you!  Maybe your rough edges aren’t as drastic as some, but maybe you are a bit harsh with your words or maybe you struggle with gossip, we all have things in our lives that we need to give to Him. The more of you that you release to God the more He will be able to mold you into all He created you to be.  It is in full surrender that we will find the fullness of all He wants for us and all that He has created us to be!  He loves you and no, following Him is not always easy, but neither is going your own way.  Life is tough at times so would you rather be walking through it with Him or on your own?  I choose walking with Him!  You don’t ever have to walk alone!

He loves you!  He cares about all that you have been through, the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all!  No matter where you are in life, He wants to work in your life and He wants to use you!  He wants to help you be all He created you to be, but it will take full surrender!  The more of Him that you allow in your life, the more your life will shine for Him in all that you do!  Don’t underestimate all that He can do in and through you! We all need to seek to have more of Him and less of ourselves so we can be like Him!
