John 15:5,8, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
What are you trying to accomplish today? Is there something you are working on that you could maybe use a little help with? Is there something that you desperately want to turn out right? Are you walking with Him? Are you leaning on Him and allowing Him to guide you in all that you do? Maybe the task at hand is something you have done so many times you could do it in your sleep, but it certainly couldn’t hurt to ask the Lord to be a part of it.
I have taken seriously “apart from me you can do nothing” since I was young and I have seen throughout my life the truth in it. When I was in High School I found that even my basketball skills were much better when I gave my games over to Him. I have experienced those times when I decided to “go it alone” and the lack of impact, lack of success, or even a disaster that came because of it was overwhelming. When I sit down to write I always pray and ask the Lord to give me His words because without Him, I have nothing. It is His power in our lives that brings fullness to everything we do.
God created us to need Him because He wants to be a part of every detail of our lives. He wants you to spend quality time with Him in the good times and the bad. His desire is to walk so closely with you that you trust Him with every detail. He loves you more than words can say. He wants to be your rock! He wants to help you become all that He created you to be and let’s face it, He is the only one who knows just exactly what all that is. Trust me, you are probably way underestimating what God would like to do in and through your life!
I would like to encourage you today to “remain in Him”. Don’t just seek Him out when life gets tough, seek Him with your whole heart every single day. Don’t miss out! Be intentional about your time alone with Him. Don’t allow satan to rob you of it by throwing insignificant things in your path to keep you from it. He wants to keep you from God’s best and God’s plan for your life. Ask God today to fill you with His strength and wisdom for every task you have. Learn to lean on Him in all that you do knowing that truly His best is yet to come!
