1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials so that the tested genuineness of your faith – more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Would it be easier for you to walk through your trials today if you looked at them as a means for you to grow into a stronger more godly person? Would it help to know “this too shall pass”? This situation is only for a season so you can make it through – it didn’t come to stay – it came to pass! I know there were times living up north that about the time March rolled around we felt like Winter would never leave and “cabin fever” would start to set in. Seasons of life can feel the same way but it will change and Spring is just around the corner if you you will hold on!
I know how tough it is when you get to the point where you take a look around and everything and I mean everything is overwhelming but that is when you truly need to rest on God! Don’t look for someone else to give you the strength you need or rescue you, remember that your hope is in God, no one and nothing else. The strength we all need to become all we need is only found in God and it doesn’t happen overnight we grow into it.
God is so good and He loves you so much if He has allowed this in your life He is also willing and ready to give you all the strength, grace and hope for your situation that you need. Now, we know that all circumstances do not turn out the way we want or hope either, we lose jobs, we lose loved ones and relationships, we don’t always get that promotion etc. but we can believe that if we could see what God sees we would know that “no” can still be a blessing in the long run. God knows what is best and it is important to remember when we pray to ask Him to do what He knows is best not just what we “feel” is best. God’s desire for you is for you to grow into all He created you to be and there are times that “no” is the best answer and there are times when yes may be the answer but we struggle through the trials of life to get there. Pray for God’s best and pray for the strength to get through day by day and pray for Him to remind you that this isn’t going to last forever! Joy will come in the morning if you just stay on track! Allow this to bring praise and honor and glory to Him through your growth and testimony .
I had to laugh last night as I sat on the back patio and looked out to where Bill and I were trying to figure out what was way out in the distance the night before. At first I thought it could be a small tornado and then we thought maybe it was a cell phone tower and last night as I looked we realized it is a pole in the yard of a neighbor 2 houses down. Now, the night before in the dusk of the evening it looked like it was a long way away, but once the light was shed on it we could see it is only a couple hundred yards away. Life can be like that as well, it looks like your answer is miles away when in reality it is just a couple hundred yards away. Shed some light on your situation today by spending some extra time in the word and ask God to help you see His way more clearly. The best is yet to come – you will make it through this today!
Quote: (one of my favorites) “Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day, saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”
