Psalm 37:34, “Hope in the Lord and keep His way. He will exalt you to inherit the land;”
Don’t lose hope! Keep striving for what you know God wants to do in your life! Remember Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Sometimes we read those verses and want to think that they imply that nothing bad will ever happen if we follow God, but that’s not how it works, unfortunately. We live in a fallen world so there are going to be struggles, heartaches, and chaos at times, but God wants you to know that He is still working out His plan! Don’t let satan drag you away from all that God has planned by discouraging you. He desires to take everything going on and make you feel hopeless, anxious, and fearful to the point where you decide to take things into your own hands instead of trusting that even though you can’t see it ~ God is still working on your behalf. Remember that things always seem to be at their worst just before your answer and breakthroughs come, so if it feels as though the heat has been turned up be encouraged. Your answer could be just around the corner.
Believe me, I know how wearisome it can be waiting for God to do all that He has said He will do. I get what it’s like to be at the absolute end of your rope, and whoever came up with the idea of tying a knot at the end has never truly been at the end of their rope! When you are exhausted from the struggle and you feel you just can’t take it one more day, go to Him. Ask Him for the strength you need for today and for verses and people to encourage you. Turn on some praise and worship music. Be like David and “encourage yourself in the Lord.” Ask Him to help you feel His presence in your fire. Keep reminding yourself that you are not alone! Hold on to your hope in Him.
It is important to not neglect the part of this verse in Psalms, “and keep His way.” Make sure that you are striving to be like Him daily. Shut out what the world has to say about your situation, they don’t have the answers. Follow Him even when you don’t feel like it. Life isn’t easy, but he has promised to walk with you if you ask Him to and trust Him that He truly does have a plan for your life, but you must follow Him.
