1 John 1:5-7, This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11-13
The only way to have Jeremiah 29:11 is to follow Him and to know that it is in walking with Him as it says in 1 John that we will see Him and His goodness. Remember this too, when God says He will prosper you that doesn’t mean He is promising you great wealth or that you are going to run out and just buy whatever you want. If that is instantly where our minds go then we still need to do some searching of our hearts to see why. We can absolutely count on Him to provide all we need ~ uh-hem NEED. That doesn’t always mean you are going to be overwhelmingly wealthy. He may give you wealth, or He may not but whatever His plan is, it is GOOOOOOOD! Sometimes that “good” takes you through the fire to refine you but stick with Him and you will be amazed at all He can do in and through you if you do!
Take a look again at those verses from 1 John ~ In Him is NO darkness! None! We are without excuse in this dark world because God has shown His light over us and the path we need to take. There isn’t a smidgen of darkness there. He doesn’t say that we can live a little in the shade of the world because then we are accepted, nope, He wants us to walk in the light He provides so the world will see Him! He has provided that light so you can follow His plans for your life, it’s all right there in His word. Don’t be dabbling or thinking you will just walk that fine line between His light and the darkness satan is trying to draw you into. Remember, “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.” Choose God’s path. Ask Him to give you the confidence and strength to do all He has called you to do in this dark world. Choose to walk in the light so you can be a light to the world around you! His best is yet to come!
