Jesus Loves Them…Don’t Miss Out On Teaching Them

by | Jul 15, 2021

Matthew 19:14,  But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

I remember back when my children were little one of the big things we fought was the temptation to allow the tv to become the babysitter.  It was so easy to just plop them down and put in a movie and go about getting my stuff done, but that wasn’t “the best plan”.  Today there are so many other things you could get caught up with when you are raising your kids or watching your grandchildren that will occupy their time so your time isn’t “interrupted”.  Even though those things may not be bad, make sure that you aren’t missing out on bringing them to Him!

This week, in our area Vacation Bible School is going on at one of the local churches.  This church has always done kids ministry on a huge level ~ they just love children and it shows to the entire community.  I ran into the pastor yesterday when I was picking up my grandchildren and I asked him approximately how many kids were there yesterday and he grinned and humbly said, “my best estimate would be about 1,600! “ Wow!  His next comment was, “God is just so good to us, blessing us with all of these kids!”  My thought was and you are probably about to be blessed more for your heart to reach out to the children!  (Note for churches:  One of the really awesome things they offer as well is a class on Saturday called Faith 101 for any children wanting to know more about salvation and baptism, even though of course their heart is to lead any child through the plan of salvation all week, it is fast-paced and they don’t want to miss a single opportunity to reach those children and families)

Don’t miss out on reaching the children in your life!  Yes, we need to be sensitive to reaching everyone, but so often in this day and age children seemed to be pushed aside or handed something to do so they aren’t “in the way”.  God has given us a mission and we need to reach those children while their hearts are tender.  Satan is after the children, clearly, he was even back when Jesus walked the earth or Jesus wouldn’t have had to say this.  Spend time with them.  If you are blessed to have children in your home are you praying with them and reading them Bible studies?  Don’t lose this time.  Teach your children and your grandchildren.  Volunteer at your church to help out if you can.  Ask God today what He would have you do to reach more children for Him!

This means a lot to me right now. I’m staying at my aunts house for a couple weeks and my little cousins ate here too, they don’t know God. Sadly His word isn’t taught in their home. I’ve been able to go on walks with the little ones in the evening and realized that then is the perfect time for me to be able to share Gods love for them! Thank you so much, God bless!
