Let’s Train Together So We Can Run Well

1 Corinthians 9: 24-25 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize.  Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.  They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

If you were training to run a race you would take the time to get ready for it.  It takes being intentional and self-disciplined in order to run well.  You would never just sit around on your couch and then hop up on the day of the race and expect to even finish, let alone win.  If you want to run the race well that God has set before you in this life you must get intentional in your training.

We have one life to live for Him here on this earth.  How’s it going for you so far?  Is there some tweaking that needs to be done in your walk?  Are there maybe some things that need to go or maybe be added?  Are you intentional about spending time with Him?  Do you set aside time in your schedule for Him or do you just squeeze Him in somewhere when you have a little spare time?  How long would any relationship last in your life if you treated it like you do your relationship with Him?  Fortunately for us, He is always there waiting, but He would like to have a close relationship with you.

I would like to encourage you to spend more time with Him.  Be intentional about it.  Write it into your schedule.  Spend time in prayer.  Spend time reading your Bible.  Ask Him to guide you in all that you do.  Trust Him.  The more you get to know Him the more you will trust Him.  Ask Him for the wisdom and strength you need to be His light in this very dark world so others will see Him and accept Him as their Savior!  Trust Him knowing that His best is yet to come!
