No Need To Fear ~ He is With You!

Deuteronomy 31:6,  “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Moses was telling the people of Israel to go into the land with the confidence that God was with them, and in fact, would go ahead of them to prepare the way.  Moses had seen what happened 40 years before when the people rose up in fear and refused to go in and take the land so his encouragement was a deep heartfelt conviction, not just flippant words.  There were going to be battles, even though God cleared much of the land Himself, there would be those times when He required them to fight for all He promised them.

Are there things you are facing that today are feeling a bit overwhelming?  When the giants are looming and taunting you, telling you that “this is too much, you’re not able…”, and you can’t seem to feel His presence regardless of how you may “posture” yourself to, it’s time to take your eyes off that giant and focus on God.  Ohhhh, that can be much easier said than done, I know ~ I have my own giants that often seem to be popping up like “Whac-A-Mole” and I have to constantly guard my heart and mind from what satan wants to say about the situation.  The more the attacks come the more we must dig our heels in and spend time with God.  This morning as I was praying and pouring my heart out to God about everything from ministry needs to the continual attacks from Hell, I could hear Him saying in my spirit, “Be still… just be still.” Seek God and pursue what He gives you to do today and Know that He is God, trust Him!  In order for Him to leave you if you have accepted Him as your Savior, He would have to remove His Spirit that He gave you when you accepted Him as your Savior.  His Spirit is with you 24/7 and whether you see it or feel it, He is there and He is always moving forward, going before you and preparing the way.  He hasn’t forgotten you or anything you may be facing.  Just keep taking those burdens, heartaches, mountains, and attacks from Hell and putting them at Jesus’ feet.  Do your part and then trust Him with the outcome.

Now, if you continue in Deuteronomy 31 you see in verse 7, “Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, ‘Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and  you shall cause them to inherit it.’”  There are times when God will give you the charge to be strong for those around you that He has put in your charge, whether that’s family, friends, coworkers, those you teach or minister to, or maybe employees.  There are times when the battles you face are as much for others as it is for you so you must fully rely on God for the wisdom and strength you need.  He is there, and He will give you all you need if you will just keep your eyes on Him and allow Him to guide you to the other side.

Wherever you may be on your path today I would like to encourage you to keep Him first place and fix your eyes on Him. When you focus on Him those giants will pale in comparison, they are no match for our God.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”  Numbers 6: 24-26
