Put Your Whole Heart Into It

2 Kings 22:1-2   Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty one years in Jerusalem.  His mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.  And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the way of David his father, and he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

As you read through the books of Kings you see over and over how one king would do what was right in the eyes of the Lord and then others would do what was evil in the eyes of the Lord and some would do what was right but not completely because they would still leave the “high places” where the people worshipped other gods and the entire nation was affected by their decisions.

We have the same choice today.  How much of your heart and life you give to God is your decision.  He does not make us behave like little robots he gives us the choice to follow Him with our whole heart or however much we choose.  Take a close look though because they missed out on much when a king would choose to do his own thing or follow the heathen gods of the land.

God loves us and he wants a close relationship with us.  Holding back part of your heart is not benefitting in any way.  God isn’t trying to withhold good from us by asking us to walk with Him and to allow HIm to be Lord of our lives and direct our steps.  He is trying to give us the best life possible and He knows His way is best!  God is good, always good and His desire is for good for you.

Holding back part of your heart doesn’t always mean that you are trying to hang on to some sort of sin in your life it could be that you have a wounded heart and the hurt is so overwhelming that it turns in to other things and it blocks God’s goodness from shining through in our lives.  When we hang onto our hurts to nurse them and mourn over them it often turns into bitterness, resentment and anger.  We need to give it all to Him!  We need to ask God on a daily basis to show us when we are harboring things in our heart that are affecting our walk with Him.

Give Him your whole heart!  Allow Him to heal your hurts and wash away the bitterness, hurt, anger, resentment, pain and unforgiveness.  Let Him give you a fresh start today so He can shine through in all that you do and say!  His desire is to heal and to give you beauty for ashes and joy in place of your mourning – He loves you with His whole heart, give Him all of yours today!
