The Lord is Good…!

Psalm 100:4-5
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His court with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

If you live in America typically today you are preparing for tomorrow and our Thanksgiving holiday. I absolutely love Thanksgiving! (In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states…….. Read More on the History of Thanksgiving)

No matter where you are today or tomorrow though, I would like to encourage you to take some time to remember all that God has done and talk about it. What do you have to be thankful for? There is always something you can be thankful for. One of the best ways to teach our children about God is to remind them of God’s goodness and all that He does in our lives! One of the best ways also to encourage yourself in your faith is to remind yourself of all that God has done for you over the years. I would love to encourage you to keep a journal where you can keep track of all that God has and is doing in your life! Think of how much that would help when your faith is wavering and you can pull out your journal to remind yourself of God’s faithfulness and even more than that, think of what a blessing it would be to your children after you are gone to be able to see your history and walk with God and His faithfulness in your life! What kind of difference would that journal make in your life and the lives of those you love?

Let’s remember over the next few days to be Thankful to Him and to bless His name for His goodness and love! Then, after this holiday is past, remember to continue your journaling, thanking and praising Him for all He continues to do in your life! The best is yet to come!
