John 16:33. “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Everyone wants peace and yet the world seems to be farther and farther from ever obtaining peace. That is because true peace can only be found in Him! Whether it is world peace or peace in your everyday life, it won’t be found anywhere other than in Him!
If you want more peace in your life and home then there must be more of Him there! You won’t find peace in making more money, although there is nothing wrong with making more money. You won’t find peace in a new relationship, even though as long as you aren’t married, there may be nothing wrong in a new relationship. If you want peace in your home, at work, in your marriage, with your children then you must spend more time with Him! You will only find peace in your situation when you add more God to it!
How much time do you spend alone with God? I used to complain that I had a difficult time finding alone time with Him until I realized that maybe I just needed to get up earlier! If I waited until bedtime, I was too tired. If I tried to squeeze it into my day somewhere, life took over and there just wasn’t time! So, I started setting my alarm to get up earlier while everyone else was in bed so I could relax and start my day with Him with minimal interruptions! If you want things to get better in your life then you must start with the only one who can help! We all want God’s help, but we need to expose ourselves to more of Him if we want more of Him in it!
No matter what you are facing God wants to fill you with His peace! “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!” 2 Timothy 1:7 God wants you to have His peace, He doesn’t want you to be running around fretting about what may happen. God is still on the throne! He is still in control! He loves you and as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declared the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Trust Him to get you through whatever you are facing, regardless of the outcome! I know that is easier said than done at times, but really, what is your other option? Will you be better off allowing satan to beat you over the head with worry and fear? Of course not, so put your faith and trust in God, knowing that He loves you!
