This is me some mornings and that is my question – what is up with my hair? My hair is so short now, but trust me over the years I have seen almost every issue known to man. When I was in School for Cosmetology many years ago I permed and treated my hair until we realized it was breaking off! My hair couldn’t have been more damaged! Here I was in school studying HAIR and we almost made me bald! Let me share a few things I learned during that time and most of it was through trial and error and I was on my own to figure it out:
1) Don’t believe the commercials you see that claim that this shampoo or conditioner will fix your split ends! The only thing and I mean the ONLY thing that will fix your split ends is – Cut them off! It is so important to keep your hair trimmed especially if you have long hair! It is so easy to overlook getting your ends trimmed but if you wait it can turn out to be the difference between having the ends trimmed and needing 3 inches cut off to have healthy hair. If you don’t get rid of the entire split end it will continue to split so if you keep the ends trimmed you won’t run into this.
2) Protein is the best hair strengthener. Soy Protein has so many benefits from balancing your female hormones to giving you healthy shiny hair! I have always used Shaklee Protein and I have been very pleased with it. You can find them at www.shaklee.com
3) Go easy on the Heat! My girls love to straighten their hair and that is great but don’t do it every day! Silk Therapy Spray works wonders at seeming to help protect your hair as well as add some shine.
Take care of your hair you will feel so much better about yourself and your day!
God Bless,
Janet Scott
