Psalm 46:10. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
So, have you got your day all planned out? How about the week or now that the kids are out of school, and the quarantine about to be lifted for many states, what will you do with the extra months of your children being home? Be careful that you don’t pack so much into your schedule, that you don’t have time for God. Let’s face it, most people have had a lot more time on their hands lately during this quarantine and hopefully, some of that extra time was spent seeking God and developing your prayer life. Don’t wait for another tragedy to seek God and His direction for your life and your schedule.
It is so easy to get so caught up in everything else in life that God gets put on the shelf until we “need” him. How would you feel if your friends and family treated you that way? Do your close friends only call when they need something from you or do you enjoy everyday life with them and that is what has built that relationship? If you want a close relationship with God, then you must spend time with Him! You will find Him if you seek Him with your whole heart! (Jeremiah 29:13) God wants an actual relationship with you, not just an acquaintance relationship. He wants to walk through life with you, every moment of every day, but He won’t force His way into your day, He is waiting for you to invite Him in.
Slow down! God has promised not to put on us more than we can bear, but so often we do that all by ourselves, by cramming everything we can into our schedules and lives! Stop! What is important to you? Take the time needed today to set your priorities! Pray about it! What are God’s dreams for your life? Have you asked Him that and have you squeezed those things into your schedule? Now is the time to rethink and reset any priorities that are out of line before you hit the ground running again. Seek God’s direction.
I would like to encourage you today to just be still for a moment and ask God for His direction in your plans! Be still for a moment and remember who He is! If you are in need of His touch today on your life, take the time to just be still and allow Him to fill you with His joy, hope, and power! Praise Him for who he is and rest in Him today! Truly His best is yet to come!
