Daniel 1:17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

God won’t give you a task to do without equipping you with the ability to do it  There are times He just places within us the ability to do something and there are times He gives us the abilities to learn how to do something.  

These young men were captives in a strange land, having to even learn a different language while they were being educated so they could serve the King who had dragged them and their families away captive.  They could have approached it all with bad attitudes which may have gotten them killed but they chose to serve God by doing and being their best!  Do you have that boss right now who seems like a Nebuchadnezzar?  Take this opportunity to learn all you can from him/her and serve God where you are to the best of your abilities!  You never know what you may need those skills for down the road!

Have you ever had a “new” opportunity dropped in your lap that seems ominous at first but then as you stepped out, you realize all the training God has given you with jobs and experiences and people from the past were for this?  God can use all the jobs you have and the challenges you face throughout your life to accomplish great things if you will just take each task along the way to learn what you can and serve as though you are serving God Himself.  Every opportunity placed before you is an opportunity to serve God, you just have to choose to see it that way!  Maybe there are new things you need to learn for the opportunity He has put in front of you that are totally foreign to you.  Don’t get frustrated and discouraged, just dig in and ask God to help you.  You can do it.  He didn’t put it in front of you and then just leave you on your own to figure it out.  He will guide you if you will just walk with Him and learn what you need to learn.  Don’t hold back!  God hasn’t called you to something that He won’t equip you for!  He loves you and will give you all the wisdom and ability to do whatever He has called you to do!  You can trust that as you follow Him and learn all that He is trying to teach you in life that truly His best is yet to come!
