Allow God To Choose Your Battles

2 Timothy 2:23
Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.

There are so many things we could argue about if we wanted to take the time. Do you really have time for all of that foolishness. I watch as people argue over things on Facebook that there’s no reason to argue about because they are issues that the Bible is very clear about. God doesn’t want you spending your time arguing with people about things that they are refusing to understand.

Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 14:7 “Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceives not in him the lips of knowledge.”

God has called us to higher things than to spend our time arguing about foolish things.

Now, this does not mean that you don’t take a stand for what is right! There are times you need to state the truth and move on. The key is to be discerning and allow God to move on your heart when the time is right for you to say something and when it is best to just bite your tongue. We are to be bold for the cause of Christ and we are to stand for what we believe in, but we are not to get into foolish arguments over every little issue that comes up in the world. Do as Jesus did and use scripture (in context) and move on! Allow the word of God to stand for itself. You will never change the heart of a fool, but God’s word can. We are not to be mushy in our beliefs we are to be strong. Strength is often found in being able to wisely state what the Bible says is true and right and then not allowing yourself to argue with someone else about it. You don’t have to prove the word of God, you just need to stand for what it says! God has proven His word and will continue to do so.

Pray for the wisdom to know when God is moving on your heart to take a stand and then stand boldly, and pray that He will also lay on your heart the times it is best to just walk away. Our goal in life is not to just be right it is to honor Him in all that we do!
