Isaiah 40:28-31
Hast thou not know? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Ohhhhh, I can’t help it, every time I read or hear those verses I also hear the song saying, “teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait!” Be careful if you pray those words, just saying! I am just teasing, but it is true ~ don’t pray for something you don’t want! I have sung those words over and over since I was a little kid and then when I end up waiting on God for something it seems as though I can whine like a kid at times too!

Like I have said before, being in God’s waiting room is better than in His ‘emergency room’! If you are waiting on Him, remember that every wait has an end. You may feel as though it has been forever and believe me, I am right there with you, but He will come through! He always does and some things take more time than others, but if it is taking a while, well, you know He is putting in some serious effort into your answer! God is working! He has a plan! You can trust Him! He has promised in these verses to give you strength when you are just weary of it all and you just don’t feel as though you can take one more day! He has a plan and as another old song goes, “when you can’t trace His hand, trust His heart!”

Your wait may be over today! Don’t give up! Ask God to do a mighty work in your life and in whatever circumstances that are frustrating you today! Keep your eyes fixed on Him and He will see you through! The best is yet to come!
