“Be Still and Know That I Am God”

by | Mar 27, 2020

Psalm 46:10. “Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

Well, I guess most of us have the time to “be still” now don’t we?  I know if you have children it can be rough trying to catch your breath keeping up, but make sure you make time to just be still.

Side note:  if you are home with all of your children during this quarantine, don’t allow it to become a free for all every day, keep your sanity by keeping a routine.  Keep a bedtime schedule. If you put them to bed then you can find some time for yourself ~ the house cleaning can wait until tomorrow, you are going to be home anyhow!   I used to tell my kids when they were young, on nights when it was ok for them to be up a little later, that if they wanted to read they could sit on their bed and read before going to sleep.  Don’t allow them to be on their electronics just before bed because it stimulates their mind and they won’t rest well and then you probably won’t either.  Limit time with electronics and help them find creative things to do ~ even coloring is a good and relaxing activity for them.  Get on Pinterest and find some craft ideas or games.

Fill your home with praise and worship music in the background.  Don’t allow your mind to wander into all of the craziness and fear.  God’s got this and if we give it all to Him and trust Him, His name will be exalted in the earth!

God loves you!  He cares about every detail of what you are facing.  Give it all to Him!  Let’s focus on becoming more like Him and trusting Him more.  Just be still and know that He is God!  Get those books out that you have been meaning to read and spend some time reading instead of just binge-watching tv.  Draw closer to God during this time!  His best is yet to come!
