Be The Change

by | Jan 18, 2022

Titus 2:11-12. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Are you ready to really go after 2022?  Do you have new goals set and changes in mind that have given you fresh motivation?  How can God use you this year to draw others to Him?  Yes, I suppose you could go out and try beating people over the head with your Bible, but I am thinking that may not be as effective as one would hope.  How about finding one simple thing you can change in yourself that will actually draw other people to God.  Maybe it has to do with one of your resolutions and the change that needs to be made is asking God to help you with that instead of trying to do it yourself.

Is there something you are giving up in 2022?  Have you thought about adding something, like specific time alone with God in order to hear His heart, or prayer, maybe you could start a prayer journal?  How about memorizing scripture?  Maybe you are like me and some days you are lucky to remember why you just walked into that room you are standing in, so the thought of memorization seems like a stretch, well here’s a suggestion:  I have a small notebook that I write down verses that God has given me or that I want to remember and I keep it in my purse so I can pull it out and read it anytime I need encouragement or a reminder of what God has to say about me and my situation.  As you read those verses over and over each day, you will be amazed at how well you remember them!  You don’t have to make memorization a chore, but making God’s word a part of your everyday life will change your life and the life of those around you!

We all know there’s a lot in this world that needs to change.  Be the change!  You don’t have to act like a crazy person, just do something simple like, be nice.  Instead of fighting over that parking space, let them have it!  Pay it forward in whatever ways the Lord leads you.  Smile!  Reach out to those you know are hurting!  Give a single parent a gift card to go out to eat.  Just ask God to show you, He will be happy to!

Make this year a year to make a difference!  Ask God to show you what you can do to make a difference and better serve Him!  He loves you so much and He wants that love to flow out to all those around you!
