Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
I love going to church and I love the atmosphere that is so full of worship and praise! I grew up in the church so I guess I feel a certain sense of comfort and joy to just take in all that Sunday morning in church has to offer. I love to serve in the church too and I have missed out on that for quite a few years because of the ministry and this last year due to illness, but I am looking for new opportunities to get involved again.
There are so many people who are frustrated and disgruntled with the church today and my question for them would be; then what are you doing to change it? Complaining and fussing doesn’t honor God – Jesus saw what was wrong with the “church” when He saw the money changers and He didn’t just run around whining about it, He threw them out! It is time for each of us to rise up and do what we can to make our churches reflect Christ! We need to be sure that the message that is given is one that honors God, His love and His restoration and His grace and mercy shown to us in the Gospel. If we, the body of Christ – the church, would focus more on the “gospel” of Christ and His desire for each of us to become all we can be in Him we would be more forgiving, loving and merciful to others, correcting in love where correction is needed with the desire to bring everyone to God so we can all serve Him in the capacity He created us to serve. Pray for one another and serve one another so we can each be a part of helping each other become all we can be for Him.
Now, since we know that the “church” isn’t just a building then we need to be a part of reflecting Christ every day, not just on Sunday! The blessing of attending church is assembling together with other believers and having time together to worship God and to become more like Him in the process, we each need that fellowship. How do you spend the rest of the week? Are you counting on that one day a week to fill you up and then you can coast through until the next Sunday or are you filling up every day in His word and with time each day to praise Him for all He has done and all He is? You don’t have to wait for Sunday to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, do it every day.
