Change is Possible Don’t Give Up!

2 Corinthians 7:10   For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret….

Don’t underestimate the change God can bring about in someone’s life when they get to a point of repentance and total surrender!  Let’s begin with Paul who wrote several books in the New Testament; one day he was on the road with a plan to kill all of the Christians and the next day he repented and became one and suffered greatly for the cause of Christ.  He was a changed man overnight.

I know I can look back over the years of my life and see how God has worked and has changed me greatly and I can look at others that I love and see how God has done amazing things in their lives when they were receptive to it! Some people take longer to change than others and yet I have seen times when once they have decided “this is it, I won’t live that way any more” and they repented and gave it all to God ~ they were changed.  It really is a matter of allowing God’s conviction to change our will and the more we are open to His leading and working in our lives the faster and deeper the change is!

If there is something you need to change I would encourage you to give it all to Him and allow Him to change you.  Don’t wait another minute.  I have heard too many people say, “well, that’s just the way that I am.” and my response would be and Jesus died on the cross to change “just the way you are.”  God didn’t create us to become comfortable with the way we are, we need to strive to be more like Him every day.  Don’t ever settle for less than all you can be!

If there is someone in your life that has some serious areas that need changing let me encourage you to stay your course, listen to how God tells you to handle the situation and pray that God will be able to move in their hearts to bring about change!  No one is beyond hope as long as God is still on the throne and trust me He is!  Don’t lose hope for that person you love.  Pray that God will convict and move and draw them to HIm.  Pray that they will open their hearts to God.

God is an amazing God and He is the only one who can bring about true positive change in our lives.  Trust Him today and allow Him to move and work in you in order to make you more like Him.  The best is yet to come!
