Choose To Be An Encourager!

Matthew 12: 13-14    Then he said to the man, “Stretch our your hand” and the man stretched it out, and it was renewed, healthy like the other.  But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.

Sometimes no matter how much good you do people will just look for something to find fault.  Jesus faced that over and over in His time on earth, He even died for it so He understands when you face the same thing.  I have watched people pick apart the smallest of things when someone is doing ministry or in families and I have seen people get offended over everything under the sun.  What do you think actually causes all of that other than Satan of course – discord is one of his favorite tools whether in the church or in families, but there can be more to it than just that.

Most people who have to pick apart other people on a regular basis or are easily offended are struggling inside with who or what they are.  A person with a healthy outlook on who they are in Christ and a healthy outlook on life doesn’t turn everything into an offense or find fault with everyone around them.

If you are dealing with someone who does this let me suggest that you don’t get caught up in the mess of it all.  Rise above and be who you need to be and set the example.  Life is too short and we are called to rise above silly nonsense.  Don’t allow someone else’s behavior and attitudes become yours or ruin your day.

If you struggle in this area and find you are the one out of control with finding fault with everyone and everything around you to the point that you are constantly complaining and letting everyone know what you think, maybe it would be a good time to take a look at your view on what you think about yourself.  Take some time and remind yourself of who you are in Christ.  What does scripture have to say about who you are?  Why do you feel offended so easily?  What part of that wounded heart of yours have you not dealt with and given over to Jesus?

Remember this:  Hurt people – hurt other people, Free people – free other people!  Which type of person do you want to be?

If someone is giving you a hard way to go and you just can’t seem to do enough right I would encourage you to pray for them instead of joining in.  If you are struggling with these feelings I would encourage you to ask God what is causing you to feel that way and to heal your heart and help you become an encourager instead of a “fault-finder”.
