Choose Wisely

Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Who you hang with tells a lot about you! Stop and think for a moment …. who is your best friend? What group do you hang out with the most? When you are up who do you choose to hang with and when you are down who do you choose to hang with? Do you choose people who challenge you in life or do you choose those who make you feel comfortable?

We are not the judge and jury for those around us but we do need to be careful that we choose wisely those we spend the most time with. It doesn’t matter who you are, your friends wear off on you and they do have considerable influence on you and often the decisions you make in life. If you want to be more godly, choose to find some godly women to spend time with. If you are looking for success, you need to find some more successful people to spend more time with. You become like those you are around the most, so choose wisely!

Now, in light of that last statement; “you become like those you are around the most…”, verse 2 in Psalm chapter 1 states, “but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night.” Our goal is to be more Christ like so if you want to be more like Him you are going to have to make a conscious effort to spend more time with Him. Reading your Bible every day is not just a chore to check off your list, it is something that should be done with the goal in mind that you are spending time with the God of the Universe and He is trying to teach you something from His word! Take advantage of that time and cherish it because He has left you His word to guide you and to help you to be all that He created you to be! His Word is your manual for life!  How much time you spend with God shows!

I would like to challenge you today to spend more time with Him! Ask Him to give you a strong desire to spend more time with Him! His desire is to help you become all you were created to be ~ the best is yet to come!
