John 8:12, Then Jesus spoke to them again saying, “I am the light of the world.  He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”  

As the world is screaming for change what can you do?  Do you join in raging and ranting burning buildings, and hurting other people?  What do you do?  Change will not come by adding darkness to the current darkness.  You can’t add to the anger and expect something good to come out of it.  What happened to seeking God?  God is the author of positive change!  The creator of all has the answer.  The world needs Jesus!  Are you as passionate about that as you are your political stand right now?  There’s nothing wrong with standing up for what is right, believe me, we need to stand up for what is right politically, but we need to keep God at the helm of all that we say and do. 

Take a look around.  There are so many lost people out there and they need Jesus.  It’s time to get passionate about that!  It’s time to make showing the love of God and reaching out to people with the gospel a priority.  God loves everyone ~ all those people that may have done you wrong or you did wrong to them, regardless of race, opportunity, job, financial situations, you name it ~ God loves them and they matter, just like the fact that you matter.  His desire is for us to be concerned about each and every person we meet and their eternal destination!  You are not going to agree with everything everyone else says, so stop arguing and move on.  There may be people you need to remove from your social media lists so you can focus on God.  If it is stirring up anger on either side, just move on and get your focus back on God, if you can’t resolve it, don’t allow it to consume you.  Pray!

How can the world change?  Take a look at 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  THEY NEED JESUS!  If you want change in your own life then you need more of Him as well.  We can never have more than enough of Him in our lives.  He is the only answer!  The more we allow Him and His love and truth to saturate our lives the more we will see change in our area of the world.  Focus on Him.  Ask Him to show you what needs to change in your life.  Ask for His love for people.  

How important is all of this to God?  John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but will have everlasting life.”  I don’t think it can get more important than that!  

Let me encourage you to be the light today.  Matthew 5:14-15 says, “You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”  Choose today to be the light to all those around you!  Ask God to fill you with His love for others and for the opportunities to show that love.  Ask Him for opportunities to share the gospel with others as well.  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be His hands and feet.
