Do You Need A Fresh Start

Revelation 21:5
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Who here doesn’t like new things? I would have to say “we all do”, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t enjoy something new. Coming in Revelation these verses are referring to God making everything new again, a new earth, a new heaven but that same God can take your life and make all things new too. Are you willing to give everything to Him today and allow Him to make it all new today?

Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” It starts with you ~ are you willing to ask Him to give you a clean heart and a right spirit? Are you willing to make any changes you need to make in order to have a fresh start? Sometimes it is like Spring cleaning…… it isn’t going to just get done because you want it to, you have to do your part as well! I am a little late in starting my “spring cleaning” this year but I am ready to dig in and yet now there’s more to it than if I had started earlier. Don’t put it off, ask God today to give you the right attitude and a clean heart and get started on a fresh start!

Isaiah 61:3, “to grant to those who mourn in Zion ~ to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” Is that what you are looking for? God wants to heal your wounded heart, He wants to give you a fresh start in all that you do so you can serve Him and He will be glorified as a result. God loves you, He wants to help you be all that He created you to be!

There’s nothing you could have done that would hold Him back from wanting you to make things right and to have a new beginning and a fresh start so you can be all He created you to be. Lamentations 3:22-23, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” I remember being told after my divorce years ago that I would never be used in the church again that I was attending and it broke my heart because I was not divorced because I had done anything wrong….. I basically ran for my life and my children’s lives, my husband was talking about killing us after he had cheated with multiple women. They were right about the fact that I was never used in that church again to serve God, but God had a bigger plan and He hadn’t tossed me aside ~ the same is true for you! God can use all of your heartache, your pains of life, your mistakes, your failures and the mistakes of others and if you allow Him to He can use those things to grow you into the person you need to be in order to serve Him and others.

There is a plan for you, that hasn’t changed or God would take you home: Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.” Where you have been may not have been His plan but you can choose today to make where you are headed His plan! It is up to you! Would you like a fresh start today, a new beginning? The choice is yours and the best could truly be yet to come for you!
