Do You Need To Be “Committed”

by | Feb 16, 2021

Psalm 37: 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.

Have you struggled with where you are headed, or maybe wondering where you need to be headed or maybe even with where you are?  Are you lost wondering what to do next?  Maybe you need to stop doing and spend some time alone with Him and ask Him to take it from here, to show you what you need to do and totally commit it all to Him.  I know some of you are in dangerous situations and I pray for God to protect you and keep you and guide you ~ He loves you and you can trust Him.  Psalm 37: 39-40 “The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.  The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them because they take refuge in Him.” You must commit to what He asks you to do if you want His best. You cannot pick and choose which areas of your life to commit to Him, He wants you to be fully committed to Him in all that you do so you can become all He created you to be! Ask Him to help you learn to trust Him with it all!

There are times that maybe your situation isn’t necessarily dangerous but it is still very overwhelming.  Things like messed up finances or struggles with your job or children can be consuming but those are still things that all need to be given to God so He can direct your paths. Don’t waste time beating yourself up over where you are or past mistakes that have brought you to this point ~ ask God to forgive you and to help you make the right decisions from here on out. I would suggest that if you struggle with finances that you invest your time and the few dollars it costs to go through the Dave Ramsey “Financial Peace” program.  If you don’t learn to run your money, your money will run you.  When it comes to your children may I suggest that if you are struggling with some form of rebellion that you take it to God, pray for them continuously, love them ~ hate their sin, and pray for God’s conviction in their life?  Don’t give up on your child, they are a gift from God and that is exactly what Satan is hoping you will do ~ God will guide you if you give it all to Him.

If you will just give it all to Him and pray for Him to guide you in a way that you won’t make a wrong decision here, He will come through.  Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.” Seek God with your whole heart and commit to following His leading in every area of your life, don’t hold anything back. Trust Him that truly His best is yet to come when you have committed your ways to Him!
